  • ASPCA National Pet Loss Helpline, 1-877-474-3310.   Free nationwide consultation to bereaved animal owners on a 24-hour basis.  (If your call is answered with a recording, please speak clearly, leave your own name and telephone number, and your call will be returned as soon as possible.) 
     
  • CONTACT of Burlington County, NJ, 856-234-4688.  Offers free telephone support, information and referrals to anyone who is mourning or anticipating the loss of a pet; 24-hour crisis helpline.
     
  • Nikki Hospice for Pets Foundation (NHFP) Pet Loss Support Hotline, 707-557-8595.  Callers are invited to leave a brief message if no one answers, and carefully articulate their name and call-back number, especially if using a wireless phone or when emotionally distressed, so that messages do not become garbled or unintelligible.  Calls will be returned as quickly as possible, usually within 72 hours.
     
  • The Iams Company’s Pet Loss Support Center & Hotline, 1-888-332-7738.  A special toll-free number for grieving pet owners, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
